Emma Green Celebrant

What an absolute joy it was to lead Lily and Robert’s wedding ceremony in Liverpool on Saturday at the fabulous Houghwood Golf Club! From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this was going to be a day filled with love, laughter, and meaningful cultural connections.

Lily, who is Chinese, and Robert, who is English, wanted their wedding ceremony in Liverpool to truly celebrate both of their backgrounds and they achieved it beautifully. One of the most moving moments of the day was Lily’s grand entrance. Her nephew had composed her entrance music, a stunning piece in a traditional Chinese style that filled the room with elegance and emotion. As Lily appeared, you could see Robert’s breath catch, it was a moment none of us will ever forget.

Throughout the ceremony, every detail reflected their shared story and the merging of two families and cultures. We enjoyed heartfelt speeches from Robert’s great niece Alisa, who bravely learned and delivered a phrase in Mandarin, and from Lily’s dear friend Irene, who read a touching Chinese poem in the same language. Those moments brought such warmth and connection, proof that love truly transcends language.

Their wedding ceremony in Liverpool was relaxed, personal, and full of laughter. Guests smiled, laughed, and shed a few happy tears as Lily and Robert shared their vows and promises. It was the kind of ceremony that lifts your heart – joyful, sincere, and completely unique to them.

As a celebrant, it’s an honour to help couples create wedding ceremonies in Liverpool that reflect who they are, where they come from, and where they’re going together. Lily and Robert’s day was a perfect example of how a wedding ceremony in Liverpool can be both deeply personal and wonderfully inclusive.

Congratulations, Lily and Robert – may your life together be as harmonious and heartfelt as your unforgettable ceremony!
