Emma Green Celebrant

When you think about wedding vows, you probably picture two people standing opposite each other, making promises for the future.

But before I ever ask a couple to make those promises, I make a few of my own.

Every ceremony I write begins with a commitment, not just from you, but from me too. Because being your celebrant isn’t simply about turning up on your wedding day with a script. It’s about getting to know you, understanding your relationship and creating a ceremony that feels unmistakably yours.

I Promise to Listen More Than I Talk

Your ceremony should never be about me. It’s about your story, your personalities and your relationship.

That’s why I spend time getting to know you properly. I want to hear how you met, what makes you laugh, the challenges you’ve overcome, the little habits that make you smile and the moments that made you realise you’d found your person.

Often, it’s the tiny details that become everyone’s favourite parts of the ceremony and inspire the most meaningful wedding vows.

I Promise to Create a Ceremony That Could Only Belong to You

No templates or copy and paste scripts. No changing a few names and calling it bespoke.

Every ceremony I write starts with a blank page because every couple deserves something original. Whether you’re romantic, sarcastic, reserved, adventurous or somewhere in between, your ceremony should sound like you, not like every other wedding your guests have attended.

I Promise to Celebrate Your Relationship Exactly as It Is

There isn’t a correct way to be a couple. Some people write heartfelt wedding vows that leave everyone reaching for the tissues. Others make each other laugh from start to finish.

Some couples want a ceremony packed with symbolism, while others prefer to keep things simple.

My job isn’t to fit you into a traditional mould, it’s to create a ceremony that reflects who you already are.

I Promise to Make Your Ceremony the Highlight of Your Wedding Day

Guests often tell couples afterwards, “That was the best ceremony we’ve ever been to.”

Your ceremony isn’t something to get through before the drinks reception, it’s the reason everyone is there in the first place.

I want your guests to laugh, cry, feel connected to your story and walk away feeling like they’ve witnessed something genuinely special.

I Promise You’ll Never Feel Uncomfortable

One of the things couples tell me most often is

“We’re not very romantic.”

“We’re awkward in front of people.”

“We don’t want anything cheesy.”

The good news? You don’t have to be.

I’ll never ask you to say or do anything that doesn’t feel authentic. If something doesn’t sound like you, we’ll change it. If you don’t like an idea, we’ll find one you love.

Whether you’re writing your own wedding vows or asking me to guide you through the process, everything should feel natural and true to who you are.

This is your ceremony, not anyone else’s.

I Promise to Be More Than Just Your Celebrant

On the day itself, I’ll be so much more than the person standing at the front with a microphone.

I’ll fluff your dress.

Hold your bouquet.

Hand you tissues.

Calm your nerves.

Answer last minute questions.

Fix the little things nobody else notices.

Cheer you on before you walk down the aisle.

I’ll be there to help make sure you can focus on the only thing that really matters, marrying the person you love.

Most of All, I Promise Not to Stop Until You’re Happy

Your ceremony deserves to feel perfect.

That’s why I’ll keep writing, tweaking and refining until every word feels right.

Because when you hear your story told on your wedding day and exchange your wedding vows I want you to smile and think, that sounds like us.

Those are the promises I make to every couple I work with.

Because before you make your vows to each other, I’ve already made mine to you.
