Emma Green Celebrant

When it comes to life’s most important milestones – weddings, naming ceremonies, vow renewals, or funerals, a beautifully crafted ceremony sets the tone and tells the story. As a celebrant based in the North West of England and covering North Wales (and beyond!), my job is to ensure that your ceremony feels truly you, personal, heartfelt, and unforgettable.

But what actually goes on behind the scenes to create a meaningful ceremony? Here’s a peek into the process.

🌟 Step 1: Getting to Know You

Every ceremony starts with a conversation. Whether it’s over a cuppa, a Zoom call, or a walk in the park, I take the time to listen, really listen, to your story.

• For weddings, I want to know how you met, what makes you laugh, what challenges you’ve overcome, and what your hopes are for the future.

• For naming ceremonies, I’ll ask about the meaning behind the name, your family values, and your dreams for your little one.

• For funerals or celebrations of life, I gently guide you through remembering your loved one, so we can honour them with warmth and dignity.

This isn’t just fact-finding. It’s about connection, trust, and understanding what matters most to you.

📝 Step 2: Crafting Your Ceremony Script

Once I have a feel for your story and style, I begin crafting your ceremony from scratch, no templates, no generic lines.

• I write a bespoke script that captures your voice and values.

• I can include poems, readings, symbolic rituals (like handfasting or candle lighting), and personal touches.

• You’ll always have the chance to review and tweak the script, it’s your story, your words, your day.

My goal is to make your ceremony feel like you, whether that’s warm and witty, deep and meaningful, or full of laughter and joy.

🎤 Step 3: Rehearsing & Preparing

I’m a big believer in preparation. Before the big day, I’ll make sure:

• You feel confident and comfortable with the ceremony.

• Any rituals or symbolic elements are rehearsed.

• I liaise with your venue and other suppliers so everything runs smoothly.

For weddings or vow renewals, I can also help you write your vows if you’re feeling stuck, or gently guide you if you’re nervous about speaking in front of others.

💖 Step 4: The Ceremony Day

On the day itself, I arrive early, check in with everyone involved, and create a calm, supportive atmosphere.

I’m not just reading words, I’m holding space. I’m guiding the flow, tuning into the emotions in the room, and making sure your moment gets the honour it deserves.

And while I’m based in Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and North Wales, I’m always happy to travel across the UK for your special day.

 Why It Matters

A ceremony is more than a formal event. It’s a chance to mark change, celebrate connection, and make meaning. That’s why I put my heart into every single one.

You might not see all the hours of writing, planning, and checking behind the scenes—but I promise, it’s all done with care and love, just for you.
